SAE J1939 PRE ALARM & ALARM CODES

The engine ECU broadcasts SPN.FMI codes along with a yellow or red lamp indication to communicate the engine is running outside of specification.  A yellow lamp indicates a pre alarm condition while a red lamp indicates an alarm condition upon which engine derate/shut down occurs.

SPN - Suspect Parameter Number

FMI - Failure Mode Identifier

An SPN of 110 indicates Engine Coolant Temperature is out of specification while the FMI of 03 indicates Engine Coolant Temperature is above normal.  View examples of codes on display.

SAE J1939 CAN Bus THROTTLE

CI products control engine speed over the three CAN Bus wires (the same wires that provide engine information to the controller).  No additional wiring for throttle control.  There are four standard throttle configurations available for the EngineMaster™product line.

1) Defined Range - Select min and max engine speeds, operate anywhere within range.

2) Two State - Two speed settings.

3) Three State - Three speed settings.

4) Automatic Profile Throttle - For auto start applications.  Select warm up, operating and cool down speeds for unattended

    operation.

In addition, specific throttle modes can be implemented to match engine speed control to the requirements of an application.  This is of particular interest in applications where engine speed needs to adjust based on a pressure, temperature, level or some other monitored input.  Contact us for additional details.
